Larry Fitzgerald's remarkable week just kept going. Days after being enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the Arizona Cardinals announced the longtime wide receiver will have his No. 11 jersey retired and will be inducted into the team's Ring of Honor at halftime of their Week 7 game against the Denver Broncos on Oct. 25 at State Farm Stadium.

A franchise cornerstone

Fitzgerald spent his entire 17-year career with Arizona after the Cardinals drafted him third overall in 2004, becoming an 11-time Pro Bowler and the franchise's all-time leader in catches and receiving yards. He was enshrined into the Hall of Fame on Saturday, Aug. 8, according to NFL.com.

With his number retired, Fitzgerald becomes just the sixth player in Cardinals history to receive the honor, joining Larry Wilson, Pat Tillman, Stan Mauldin, J.V. Cain and Marshall Goldberg, per Yahoo Sports.

What's next

The October ceremony will make Fitzgerald's Hall of Fame week a two-part celebration for Cardinals fans: first his bronze bust in Canton, then a halftime tribute at home. Local coverage from azfamily.com noted the timing lines up the induction with a marquee home game, giving Arizona fans a rare double dose of franchise history in a single autumn.

No player has worn No. 11 for the Cardinals since Fitzgerald's retirement from the NFL, and the team has not signaled any change to that going forward.
