What happened to all the want ads? I cant find any? Is there something Im doing wrong?
They are under Classifieds at the top of the screen, which pops you to another page, then all you need to do is search for the want ads, Thats it. If you have any more problems feel free to let me know or contact me at 435-722-5131, Nathan
Hi! I have enjoyed checking on the obituaries. What has happened to them. I can't find them. Thank you.
Obituaries are under the Social tab, I think you might like the new look there as well, you can sign there guest book or even sponsor a page to them. Lots of new options.
I grew up in the Basin and have enjoyed the UBStandard for years. I had a terrible time find the obituaries. I Finally read the former users comments and was able to find them. I was more than a little surprised to find them under "Social". I am sorry to say I think your new site is far less user friendly than the old one.
I will work on making the Obits more visible for the users, I apologize for this but its how things work with a new setup, trying to make the best of everything. Thanks for your comments and concerns, I will work my hardest to make it easier LoyeMcDonald. Thanks Nathan
Wow, The new website is outstanding. I am excited to begin using the calendar of events and all the other great features. Great work as usual!
This will be a nice place for the community to get, give and trade information. We are fortunate to have the Standard taking the lead in giving us a great new way to network.
The format is excellent! Perhaps we can share a link in the future.
It's great once you get it figured out. And best of all it is a day earlier than the Express. I work over seas and it is great reading news from the basin. I also buy the print copy when I'm at home on dyas off. Thanks so much.
The new web site looks great Nathan, and I know you're working hard to fix any glitches and make it user friendly. Keep up the good work. Nancy
Where is Aldon Rachele weekly articles on life in Roosevelt? I can't find it anywhere and miss it.
Ugh, I don't like the new website. The old one was just right, too much flash on it now. Maybe I was just
comfortable in my old rut. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Guess I'll get used to it eventually. Being a former Basin
resident I like to check in every week and see what's up. It gets boring seeing green in Virginia year round,
sometimes I crave the wide open spaces back home. Thanks, Tammy Copenhaver.
Sorry I didn't realized it wasn't being put on, I will get that fixed dan1952. Thanks for letting me know about it.
Cricket, I am sorry its a different feel then the old site, I am sure over time you will get used to the new functions and ideas to bring you whats happening in the basin.
I can't find a "search" function. I think you need one. And I can't look back at last week's paper?
Thanks
i don't like it at all. there are no births and not every article is and extra pictures are missing. it needs to go back to the old one.
The Search Function is on the main page at the top, There is also an Advance search, have all the old stories up as well. The whole site is searchable. Also we don't put every story on the website, if you want the full paper you must buy a subscription to the paper, or even a subscription for our online paper by clicking the Electronic Edition tab. We never had births on the website, and everything else is the same as the old site, just added the My Uintah Basin to the site and updated all the functions. Thanks
I had no problem with staying current with events in the Basin when we first arrived in the Philippines and then you changed everything. I know I am just not as (up to date) as the younger folks on computers but I like to see the rentals and obits and homes for sale and classifieds and local news, and not have everything just keep changing while I am looking. HELP and Thanks
Yendis1966 Everything is still there, At the top above the Head is the Classifieds, and the line below the head is the news and calendar, basin life stories and the same things we had on our old site. Click on Obituaries to go see the obits, that are listed in the center of the next page. I know this is all new, but with a little time you should be able to find everything. The stuff changing on the Right hand side is the my Uintah Basin site where your able to publish photos stories and other things for others to see, read and comment on. The first frame you look at as you come to the site does change but only lists the top couple stories for the week, the rest of the stories you can go to the search bar above to find what your looking for. Any more questions or helps let me know. Thanks
Is there a place to send a letter to the editor? I can't seem to find one, I thought there was one on the old site. If there isn't that would be a great thing to add. Thanks
mkcrapo, Yeah there is, you can use the News tip at the top of the main site, or just send it to us through the emails provided in the Contact us, under Online Services. I am in the works of creating a setup for letters to the editor. I am sorry I haven't got it done it.
I really think the new format is poorly done. You could actually find things on the old one. I feel like I'm on a mostly unsuccesfull treasure hunt each time I come here now. I have got to the point where I feel lucky to be able to access the obituaries. I hope the designer will eventually have the idea that he or she blew it on this one.
This site is TOO busy. Just when I see something I want to click on, if flashes to something else. It makes it too hard to find what I am looking for. SIMPLIFY, SIMPLIFY, SIMPLIFY.
