UB Peaches (Uintah Basin Peaches), a local women's slowpitch softball team with members from Altamont, Roosevelt, and Vernal, have played in many tournaments, where they have taken first in all except but one. (They placed second.)

The team played in a tournament at St. George called Heat Stroke. The UB team placed first and qualified to go to the Slow Pitch Softball World Series in Las Vegas on November 7-8. The local squad played teams from California, Nevada and Hawaii. Although the UB Peaches did not take first place, they were able to place in the top 5. They had an awesome time and are looking forward to competing in this tournament next year, and hope that more teams will try to work towards this tournament.
