TWO SORENSEN TDs
Wildcats defeat AHS at Longhorn opener
The home season opener started off badly for Altamont with South Summit up 47-6, but two fourth quarter scores by the Longhorns gave local fans some thing to cheer in a 47-20 setback to the 2-A Wildcats, Friday evening. South Summit scored the first four touchdowns—including a 94-yard scoring run by Levi Thompson. Altamont's Bryson Foy, quarterback, connected with Garrett Sorensen on a 38-yard TD strike in the second quarter. South Summit led 14-0 after one quarter and 33-6 at the half. Foy was delivering air mail with first class results. He hit Venoy Hatch on an 11-yard touchdown pass and zipped out a 60-yard scoring bomb for Sorensen's second TD of the game. Levi Thompson (added 45-yard run) and Trevor Rydalch (52-yard pass and 65-yard punt return) netted two touchdowns for South Summit. The Wildcats had 415 yards on offense in the first half. Altamont will battle Lyman, Wyo. on the road, Friday and will face Uintah's JV in Vernal, Sept. 3.
