Joe Frost nets nationals title
Randlett's Joe Frost finished first in the bull riding in the final overall results with an average score 237 at the National High School Finals Rodeo in Gillette, Wyo. on Saturday. He is student at Union High School in Roosevelt. The Utah team finished second to Texas at the Nationals. Utah's girls had a strong first place showing with 4,075 points as compared to second place Oklahoma's 2,995. Utah's boys were sixth at 3,019.5 points with Texas dominating the event at 5,287.5 counters. Utah also had three second placers in Shaylee Thacker, Bluffdale, with a 10.3 average in breakaway roping, Jamie Jo Hadley, Hooper, with a 26.6 goat tying average; and Paige Hadlock, Plain City, with a 647 girls' cutting average.
