CRASH IN ROOSEVELT, THREE INJURED
Three local residents were injured Wednesday afternoon when a white 1999 Pontiac Bonneville traveling east on U.S. Highway 40 collided into a dark green 1996 Ford Explorer going south on State Street. Roosevelt Police Chief Rick Harrison, who investigated the accident, said witnesses to the 12:15 p.m. collision stated that the driver of the Pontiac ran a red light. The Pontiac's driver, Rita Sides, 37, of Roosevelt, received neck and back injuries and was later transported to a Salt Lake hospital. She was cited for failure to stop at a traffic light. The driver of the SUV, 46-year-old Barbara Murray of Roosevelt, and her son Trent, 9, suffered facial injuries and were taken to Uintah Basin Medical Center.
