BUSY PLAYING FOOTBALL
DHS basketball team has slow start
Duchesne's appearance at the 1-A championship football game (placed second) has delayed basketball tryouts at the school. “We gave the football players some time off after playing in the championship game,” said DHS basketball coach Stan Young. “We started tryouts on Thursday.” Other schools began tryouts on Nov. 9. Some DHS freshmen and sophomores played basketball while other athletes were busy on the football field. Ready-or-Not, Duchesne will open the season on the road vs. Wayne on Nov. 24 and vs. Rowland Hall on Dec. 2. DHS will host Dugway on Dec. 4 and defending champion Escalante on Dec. 5. Last year Duchesne placed second to first place Escalante at the 1-A state basketball meet.
