Giles named first teamer
Robbie Giles of Tabiona was named to the Deseret News all-state baseball team as a designated hitter. Giles batted .644 for the season. He had 14 doubles and drove in 44 runs. Gerald Van Tassell also from Tabiona was placed on the second team. Brooks Leach, Panguitch, was named the MVP. He guided his team to a 1-A state title. Panguitch beat Tabiona in a first round game. Other first teamers are: pitchers, Colin Anderson, Wayne; James Bright, West Ridge; Broc Christiansen, Intermountain Christian School; Paul Kesling, Valley; Bowdy Steele, Tintic; infielders, Randy Ellett, Wayne; Cameron Fawson, Panguitch; Tyson Westwood, Piute;.outfielders, Jaylin Christensen, Piute; Jason Johnson, Green River; catcher, Riley Miller, Panguitch.
