Voter registration deadline is Monday
Staff report

Residents who are not registered to vote have until 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, to sign up to be eligible for the Nov. 3 election, which includes the Duchesne County School District's $49 million bond referendum and various mayoral and city council races throughout the area.

Jo Ann Evans, chief deputy clerk for Duchesne County, said the deadline has passed for would-be voters to register by mail or outside locations. To be eligible for the upcoming election, nonregistered voters 18 or older who reside in the county must personally visit the county clerk's office, 734 N. Center in the city of Duchesne.

As of Oct. 7, there were 10,230 registered voters in the county.

Polling places for Nov. 3 elections will be at city and town offices in Altamont, Duchesne, Myton and Tabiona; the fire stations in Neola and Fruitland; and Crossroads Senior Center in Roosevelt.

For information on voter registration, call the clerk's office at (435) 738-1228 or (435) 738-1103.

Duchesne City's early voting for the general election will be held Oct. 20-30 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Early voting will be held at the Duchesne City Office Building, 165 South Center.
